On a recent trip to Whole Foods Market (WFM) in Hadley, MA, our Savvy Organic Shopper went in search healthy snacks to bring with her to work. While there, she found a 5.3-ounce package WFM’s 365 brand organic water crackers for $1.79; a 4.5 ounce package of conventional water crackers was priced at $3.79. Thompson Select organic raisins were $2.99 for an 11-ounce package, whereas 15 ounces of conventional raisins were $4.99. She also found 9 ounces of WFM organic dry roasted salted cashews were priced at $6.49 (the same size package of conventional dry roasted unsalted cashews was also $6.49). So, by choosing organic, our Savvy Organic Shopper not only saved money, she also came away feeling confident that she’d purchased healthy snacks that were produced without the use of harsh pesticides or fertilizers. That’s a deal we can all feel good about!
